Swedish Migration Agency
The Swedish Migration Agency (SMA), under the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Sweden is the national authority, responsible for the implementation of the national migration and asylum policy. SMA is one of the oldest and largest migration agencies in Europe with more than 6000 employees. The Agency has a broad mandate and experience covering most asylum and migration-related issues: applications from people who want to study, employment or visit Sweden, take up permanent or temporary residence, seek for asylum, family reunification or become Swedish citizens. The Agency has a large international agenda and is engaged in many international organizations/projects and activities and works in close collaboration with UNHCR, IOM, GDISC, EASO, FRONTEX, ICMPD, IGC, the Budapest process, EMN, etc. SMA participates in several international networks becoming a strong voice in migration policy debates at European and international level.
Immigration and Naturalisation Service in Netherlands
The Immigration and Naturalisation Service (INS) is positioned within the structures of the Ministry of Justice and Security of the Netherlands and it is one of the larger immigration services in the EU with over 3.500 employees. In addition, to being responsible for admission of foreigners and naturalisation, the INS is responsible for the coordination and drafting of bylaws in the whole migration management spectrum. This includes issues of asylum policy, border control, detention, litigation, visa, protection of victims of human trafficking, managed migration, etc. The INS is very active in international cooperation and projects and is an active partner in various European migration networks. INS is a founding member of the General Directors of Immigration Services Conference (GDISC), which focuses on the initiation, coordination and improvement of practical cooperation between Immigration Services in Europe.
Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Slovenia
The Ministry of the Interior (MoI) of the Republic of Slovenia is responsible for the areas of public safety and police, internal administrative affairs and migration. Migration office is positioned in the Directorate for Internal Administrative Affairs, Naturalization and Migration with the main tasks to monitor the situation in the area of migration, international protection and integration of foreigners, to identify movements, phenomena and adopt relevant measures, to prepare and supervise the implementation of laws and other regulations on migration and international protection, as well as to implement legislation in the field of migration, international protection and integration, including by assisting in integrating foreigners into Slovene society. The MoI has more than 15 years of excellent cooperation within different international and regional initiatives. The Slovenian experts supported EU Accession Countries with developing different mechanisms and systems, such as MIGRA – a system for utilizing and monitoring of absorption of EU-funds, and conducting training sessions in various countries in Western Balkan.
Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia
The Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia is committed to solving the problems of refugees, internally displaced persons, returnees under readmission agreements and asylum seekers with the application of legal regulations and international standards. Professionally and responsibly works on the constant improvement of its programs and strategic documents to create an always efficient and responsible institutional framework and implementation mechanisms that provide end-users with adequate solutions in the process of integration and reintegration as well as access to rights.
